When I am Weak He is Strong The Story of Gideon II Cor 12:10

In my youth, I was in charge of a the Lords battleship!

Now I am just floating on a log!

In his youth, Moses would free his people! (Exodus 2:12)

But when called…“Pardon your servant, Lord. Please send someone else.” (Exodus 4:13)

The Midianites ravaged the land and oppressed Israel (Judges 6:1-6)

Gideon knew his limitations; the least of the smallest clan (Judges 6:14)

Go in the strength you have…I will be with you (Judges 6:14-16)

The Lord said “Tear down your fathers alter to Baal” (Judges 6:25-32)

Gideon asks for more signs; the Fleeces (Judges 6:36-40)

Too many men! They would say ‘My own strength has saved me’ (Judges 7:2-8)

The army of 300 surprises the Midianites and they fall in panic. (Judges 7:19-23)

The exhausted army of 300 pursue the 15,000 remaining (Judges 8:4-11)

“Rule over us; your son and your grandson.” NO! (Judges 8:22-23)

From 43 lbs. of Midianite gold earrings Gideon makes and Ephod (Judges 8:24-27)

The story of Gideon He thought he knew from whence power came. Judges 6:15 – “Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family”.

The story of Gideon The Lord works with the small Judges 7:2 - The Lord said to Gideon, “You have too many men. I cannot deliver Midian into their hands, or Israel would boast against me, ‘My own strength has saved me.’

The story of Gideon Give no opportunity to the flesh Judges 8:27 - Gideon made the gold into an ephod...all Israel prostituted themselves by worshiping it there, and it became a snare to Gideon and his family.

How small are you? 140 - Ptolemy suggests geocentric theory of the Universe 1543 - Copernicus publishes his heliocentric theory of the Universe 1924 - Hubble shows galaxies do not belong to the Milky Way 1927 - Lemaître shows the universe is expanding 1932 - Oort theorizes Dark Matter 1952 - Schrodinger hypothesized the “multi-verse” theory 2000 - The “Bulk Universe” theorized

Ps 8:3-4 - When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?

II Cor 12:9-10 - But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
