Useful vocabulary Hunting: the chasing and killing of wild animals by people or other animals, for food or as a sport. Substinence: the act of having what you need in order to stay alive, but no more. Extinction: the extinction of a species of animal or plant is the death of all its remaining living members. Poachers: if someone poaches fish, animals or birds, they illegally catch them on someone else’s property Temperate: is used to describe a climate or a place which is never extremely hot or extremely cold. Predilection: if you have a predilection for something, you have a strong liking for it Foolhardy: if you describe behaviour as foolhardy, you disapprove of it because it is extremely risky.
