Unit 1 – Exploring business This unit is a coursework unit of around 45-120 pages Your grade is generated by the depth and detail of your understanding evidenced in the report The project is focussed on a Large profit making manufacturer and a not for profit firm You will study and report on: Types of business ownership Purpose of business and sector Structure of businesses Measuring the size and scope of business The market in which the business operates Stakeholders of a business Innovation and enterprise for success

BTEC Business Level 3 Summer Task Presenting a ‘not for profit’ business of your choice In your presentation you will need to include: An introduction to what the business does The ownership type of the business eg charitable trust, social enterprise or voluntary sector The structure of the business either a local branch or national organisation The purpose, size and scope of the business Explain how the business communicates with stakeholders Case studies of both internal and external stake holders showing how they influence the business success Some data on the business success and an evaluation of 4 or 5 key reasons for its success
