Presentation transcript:

Helping children and young people put the pieces back together It can be difficult for professionals to talk to children, particularly about sensitive issues. Often, using play and other resources can put the child and adult at ease and facilitate a really informative and therapeutic session.   This training session will teach participants a variety of techniques and tools to use when working directly with children. Play, Engage and Communicate with Children Training Who is the training for? To learn how to communicate with children in a way they can engage with and understand Gaining an understanding of how to understand the non-verbal communication signs children may use To gain an understanding of how to build a trusting relationship where a child feels safe to explore difficult feelings To have a portfolio of techniques and tools to use with those of different ages and levels of understanding. Learning Objectives This training session would be useful for any adult who comes into contact with children as part of their line of their work. Particularly professions such as; social workers, child and family support workers, teachers, TAs, police officers, children’s centre staff and health care professionals.
