Winona County ASAP, Fall 2019 100 Cups of Coffee Winona County ASAP, Fall 2019

Goals: Collect baseline data regarding adult’s views towards youth substance abuse. Increase our “match” Tracking time AND any costs of coffee/meal/etc. Reach new audience and expand our coalition

How to Pick your 3-5 Think of individuals who do NOT know about ASAP and our efforts well. Think outside of the box. Challenge yourself to gain insight from people you normally wouldn’t know. 2. School should not be people such as the principal or the health teacher - but the janitor, coach, other teacher, etc. 3. If able, reach out to new people. Often we assume what other people know, but that may not be the right assumption!

Participant Background Introduction Questions Reflection Review handout Participant Background Introduction Questions Reflection

How to conduct the interview We are not here to judge or argue, just to listen. Any members who agree to conduct these interviews are agreeing to keep the findings confidential. Don’t assume or pass-off something. Probe for more explanation. There is no wrong answer. All answers will be used aggregately and will not be identifiable. We may feel tempted to share our thoughts with a mutual friend, but doing so could ruin the reputation of the whole coalition. The interviews are not to be seen as an opportunity to try to change people's minds about youth substance use. If an interviewee doesn't think vaping is a big deal, the interviewers role is to note that and probe for more detail as to why they think that. If the interviewee expresses interest in learning more about ASAP, you can share vaping risks with them at a later date.
