Subheads go here or leave blank TURNING 10 A look at 10 great ways to experience wellness at MSU Texas Subheads go here or leave blank Make fitness even more fun by bringing a friend. “It’s good to see students come in with their friends. There’s good respect here in the gym as students, staff and faculty respect that people are here to work out. But they see each other outside of class and I think that helps.” Angie Reay Wellness Director “It’s a great place to come together with each part of the campus community.” Trey Reed Assistant Athletic Director

QUICK GETAWAY Do you need a break from daily pressures but don’t have a lot of time? The Wellness Center has your answer for that and more. “I use the Redwine Wellness Center almost every day. We at Midwestern State University are fortunate to have this facility to enhance our lifestyle through movement.” Dr. Frank Wyatt, Professor, Exercise Physiology

MAKING A SPLASH The Wellness Center outdoor pool is open daily from 3-7 p.m.

TAKE A HIKE Whether inside the gym or outside for a trek around Sikes Lake, there is a great way to get your steps in every day.

A great place to relax or rehab “This should be the non-stressful time of their day. This is your chance to get away from school and away from the pressures in life. We have great beginner programs.” Angie Reay Wellness Center Director

Clean and fresh Keeping It Clean One of the biggest impressions the Wellness Center has made on students and staff is the constant clean state of the facility. Director Angie Reay loves getting feedback and is proud of that accomplishment. “It’s always clean and everybody around the gym is pretty friendly,” MSU student Tom Clinton said. “This is a great escape for me, and I can say it is the same for a lot of people I know,” senior Tom Chhe said. “The staff is very friendly; they make you feel welcomed and motivated to finish your workouts,” freshman Claudia Nuno said.

Social Connection Make new friends while competing for first place in a competition, or find some teammates in the gym and enjoy a basketball or volleyball game. “There are a lot of things to do at the Wellness Center. If you have goals for losing weight, it is a great way to do that and it cost zero dollars as an MSU student.” Tommy Chhe MSU senior
