November November 6-10, 2017 What we’re up to: Classroom Updates Reading: We are comparing fiction and non fiction text and graphic features. We will be identifying the features and defining their purpose. CogAT testing Language Arts: We are learning about plural nouns. We will discuss non-fiction features and begin creating a nonfiction book draft based on schema and prior knowledge. Math: We will be reviewing telling time to the minute, half hour, quarter hour, and hour. Along with knowing the differences between A.M. and P.M. Science: We will be learning about force and motion, such as pushes and pulls. Social Studies: We will be creating diorama’s on a selected community chosen by your child. This is a class project and is not to be done at home. Notes from the Nurse: Encourage student to wash hands for 20 seconds (sing birthday song twice)                 Before eating                 After using the restroom                 After coughing or sneezing in hands Once a week, take a peek…check your child’s head weekly for nits or lice If you have not signed up for a parent/ teacher conference on Skyward, please do so as quickly as possible. The times are filling up fast! Our Thanksgiving Play is Thursday, November 16! Please practice the scripts at home with your child.
