How were the economies of the New England and Middle Colonies different than the economy of the Southern Colonies? Middle and South Colonies had more agriculture (farming). 3. Jigsaw Activity You will be divided up into groups of four. Each group member will be assigned a reading about one of the four colonial regions (New England, Middle, Southern, and Backcountry). You will use text-based evidence to complete a chart about each region. The chart will include: Names of the colonies, type of geography, type of economy, and labor force. After everyone reads their assigned section, they will discuss their findings with the rest of the group.
