Background Grant Program was created in 2014 Provides resources to invest in broadband infrastructure in unserved and underserved areas of the state

Background Cont.. 2019 -- $20 million available up to $5 million limit Grants can provide up to 50 % of projects costs Eligibility requirements: Incorporated business or partnership Political subdivision Indian tribe Nonprofit organization

Grant Project 1 – With Hiawatha Broadband Communications Grant Details: Southern rural Hastings including Marshan township and Douglas township Total “passings” of 450 Total Project Cost $2,084,700.54 Grant (45%) $938,115.24 HBC Match $573,292.60 County Match $573,292.60

Grant Project 2 – With Charter Communications Grant Details: Underserved neighborhoods in Rosemount Total “Passings” 265 Total Project Cost $989,000 Grant (50%) $494,500 Charter Match $444,500 County Match $ 50,000
