Assessment Week W/b Monday 18th May, 2020 GCSEs now require learning overtime. This is a skill that we need to help students develop. We are following the same process that Y11 follow just in an age appropriate way. Students will have been given lots of notice and support. We look at revision in REMAP and during subject lessons. All instructions and revision resources will be on ‘Google Classroom’

Graduation Collect Ace points for: Progress Attendance (Above 95% to get points) TAACA (Learning Character scores from staff) Challenges (Speech, overcoming phobia, charity run, managing loss etc.) Volunteering (Helping with an event, cooking at home for the family, school tours/ambassador, helping with a charity shop/children/elderly. Co-curricular (school clubs or own clubs eg. Scouts, Cadets, Gymnastics, Rugby, Netball, Ballet, Dance, Cooking etc.) Bronze- 60 Graduation points Silver- 100 Graduation points Gold- 140 Graduation points 2 year process: Aim is that at least 85% of students graduate with at least a bronze at the end of Year 8. It has been made deliberately difficult to achieve.

Attendance and punctuality Every student is expected to have a minimum attendance of 95%, anything below this will be monitored. You may receive supportive communication in the form of letters, phone calls and/or meetings if attendance persistently falls below 95% 90% sounds like a high percentage but the government terms this as a ‘Persistent Absentee’ (PA) by the Government irrelevant of reason/ 90% attendance means missing on average 1 day a fortnight (5 hrs lessons). If you have concerns your first contact is the site office. Head of Year and Mrs Emma Yates, Attendance Development Manager will become involved once attendance is dropping towards 95%.
