Our Approach to Improving Service Internal processes Listening and sharing Finding solutions We are addressing many internal processes to improve the taxpayer’s experience. We have a long ways to go, but are working diligently to simplify the administration of taxes for taxpayers. We are working with and listening to taxpayers and associations to simplify processes, improve communications and serve as a respected resource. We are committed to improving the tax system so it is more efficient, fair and consistent.

Budgeting for Michigan’s Priorities The Governor’s budget will: Get 90 percent of our roads in good/fair condition by 2030 Provide every community with clean drinking water Achieve 60 percent post-secondary attainment Make Michigan a top 10 state in third grade literacy   The Governor has made clear that she will not sign a budget that does not fully fund our roads, invest in our education and improve our drinking water.

Budgeting for Michigan’s Priorities The Governor has proposed increased support for local communities by $14 Million The Governor’s 2020 budget recommends $1.4 billion in revenue sharing payments: $262.8 million cities, villages, and townships $886.5 million for constitutional revenue sharing grants $228.1 million county revenue sharing and county incentive programs $2.5 million for support of local projects targeting infrastructure, public safety, blight removal, and other community revitalization efforts
