Handout

Sponsorship Sponsor means that the company is willing to file work authorization for us in the future. If a company does not sponsor, it is highly unlikely for them to hire international students as either summer intern or full time.

OPT Eligibility Criteria To be eligible for OPT, the student must: Be in legal F-1 immigration status Be a full-time student for at least one academic year Have U-M approved health insurance

If you are applying for positions posting on Handshake, please read carefully. It is very likely that you will find the answer for the H-1B sponsorship question, but they are not correct sometimes. Please visit the company site and reach out to SAM Board/recruiter for sponsorship question.
