Classroom Management NetSupport School is a powerful classroom management tool that was purchased for CTAE middle and high school teachers to support teachers with instruction, formative assessment, monitoring and managing students, and more.
10 Ways NetSupport School Helps Teachers Power on and off computers to save valuable time at the beginning of class. Record student attendance without calling roll based upon which students are logged in and appearing on your console. Keep students on task and avoid distractions by restricting access to certain websites and applications. Launch applications and websites for students on their desktops and providing shortcuts to documents. Monitor in real time all student activity visually and audibly using the thumbnail view. You can even capture screenshots of student computers. Show students your desktop, a video, or an application. Easily share content with students by dragging and dropping files. Drive down costs by managing and controlling printer access. Effectively communicate with students by sending a message or chatting. Question and assess students using audio, visual, or text based questions.
How many teachers use NetSupport for more than monitoring student computer use? Care to share what other ways you are using the program? With all of these features how can we use NetSupport to better support our classroom instruction and management? When preparing for this training, I wanted to show you how to use all of the features that I learned about during a NetSupport webinar but there was one problem . . . I had no client or student computers to test out the features of the program to make any instructional videos or handouts so that’s where you guys come into play. This session is going to be a work session for you to explore, learn, and share your findings.
In groups of two, use the internet (at your desks) and the teacher station at the front of the room (take turns rotating) to explore and test out the NetSupport feature you were randomly given. Each group has 20 minutes to research, explore, and test out their feature. http://www.netsupportschool.com/resources.asp http://www.cleanvideosearch.com/media/action/yt/watch?v=NmihDCoISUA http://www.netsupportschool.com/screens/screens.html During the last 30 minutes of the session, each group will take turns coming to the teacher station to present their findings by completing the following tasks: Demonstrate the NetSupport feature the group was assigned and tell where it can be found on the teacher console. Discuss the feature’s use(s) in the classroom to support instruction, assessment, and management. Audience members can use the screenshot handout to label and annotate icons and features to use for future reference.
