Welcome To Mr. Buckley’s Science Class Wednesday November 20, 2013 Day 55

Class Procedure Take attendance Complete activity on color coding the periodic table. Complete questions at end of worksheet.

Learning Targets I can determine the number of protons, electrons, and neutrons of an atom. I can determine protons, electrons and neutrons based on the mass and atomic number.

I can create a model structure of any given atom. Learning Targets I can create a model structure of any given atom. I can identify trends in on the periodic table. Ex. Rows indicate outer shells

Learning Targets 5) I can use the periodic table to list important information about an atoms’ structure. Ex. Atomic number indicates protons. 6) I can draw electron dot structures for any atom.

Learning Targets 7) I can define words to describe trends on the periodic chart…example. Rows; Periods; Families; groups; columns; 8) I can locate metals; nonmetals; and metalloids on the periodic chart

Important Reminders Be prepared for class.

Read textbook over sections on periodic chart. Tonight's Homework Read textbook over sections on periodic chart. Worksheet over periodic chart
