Falsified Medicines Directive Amanda Rae Head of Policy and Development Community Pharmacy Scotland Aim The Falsified Medicines Directive come into force on February 9th, 2019. In preparation for this, Community Pharmacy Scotland identified the training of community pharmacy colleagues (pharmacists, technicians, and healthcare teams) as a key priority. Plan The initial number of trainees across Scotland was identified 12580 technicians and healthcare staff 2516 pharmacists   Additional training to support ongoing turnover and recruitment will also be required. The basic training requirements were identified, and meeting were set up with NES to discuss how this could be produced and delivered. A combination of face to face and on-line sessions were identified as the best communication routes to provide for both preferred learning styles and to fit in with participants diaries. Do A Power Point presentation was prepared and developed into an on-line presentation with an accompanying narrative. This was then tested through User Groups for feedback. Act The final presentation will be used to facilitate the training in the following environments Face to face regional events with key CPS Policy & Development colleagues delivering the live sessions. On line personal training with an opportunity to send questions into CPS Policy & Development colleagues. Sharing with other organisations in Scotland for use at their own training sessions with the opportunity to send questions into CPS Policy & Development Team Share across the Home Country colleagues in England, Northern Ireland and Wales for use in their own training session with the opportunity to send questions into CPS Policy & Development Team.
