What is ICT? ICT = Integrated Co-Teaching 2 teachers: 1 general education teacher, 1 special education teacher All material taught is accessible to all students and taught with different approaches and strategies Research has shown that this approach is beneficial for all students Students develop their capacity to relate and empathize with others and benefit from more small group instruction.

What is ICT? Here are some instructional models we will use in the ICT classroom: Team Teaching: Both co-teachers deliver instruction to the whole group at the same time. One Teach, One Observe: While one teacher leads the lesson, the co-teacher collects specific data about the students, the co-teacher or the environment. Station Teaching: Teachers divide content and students. Groups of students rotate through stations in which they work on non-hierarchical activities. Parallel Teaching: Two co-teachers teach the same content to separate groups simultaneously. Alternate Teaching: One teacher works with the large part of the class while the co-teacher works with a smaller group. One Teach, One Assist: one teacher leads instruction while the co-teacher circulates providing unobtrusive help as needed.

Content Study Brooklyn Bridge Eastern Woodland Indians (Lenape) Students will investigate the architecture, history, and design of the Brooklyn Bridge. Eastern Woodland Indians (Lenape) Students will explore the history of the Lenape Indians, investigate their culture, and attend field trips to visualize how the Lenape lived.

Homework Reading Students are expected to read 30 minutes each night Just Right Books will travel to and from school Try to encourage a reading routine in a comfy reading spot Choice Board (beginning in October) Additional homework will be give out on a choice board that are due every 2 weeks Students will be able to choose 3 activities out of 9 options Work can be handed in at any time before the final due date. DreamBox Online math website that supports that way that we are teaching math at school. Dreambox will be incorporated into the Choice Boards We have the ability to monitor student activity and will do so.

State Test The best test prep is a Common-Core aligned curriculum that aids students in continuing their development as strong readers, writers and mathematicians. As time goes on, we will work with students on specific test taking strategies. Along with content and skills, we will be assisting students in growing a metacognitive awareness of their strengths and weaknesses. This awareness allows students to remain calm during the test, and know when and how to do their best work for their own individual learning style.
