Where do you think each hazard would fit onto the scales? You have been given images of earthquake events that happened in Bam, Japan, Nepal, China, Christchurch and Haiti, as well as two volcanoes events Pinatubo and Mount St Helens. TASK: Describe the damage you see. Where do you think each hazard would fit onto the scales?

Hazard Profiles P20-21 in Hodder book Explain what the Hazard Profiles show in relation to frequency / speed of onset etc. For example, why is the speed of onset quickest for earthquakes as opposed to landslides?

Homework Create your own hazard profile for the event that you were given today, including a description of what the profile shows. Then evaluate the hazard profiles – 3 positives, 3 negatives.
