What is Cementing/ Levelling? Cementing/levelling is covering the surface inside the boundary which is nothing but area of the shape. Ans : Cost of fencing the parallelogram garden 88 cm is Rs 528 Example 1: Find the cost of fencing a parallelogram garden having adjacent sides 19cm and 25cm at the rate of Rs 6 per cm Note Cost of fencing – Perimeter Cost of cementing – Area Cost of leveling – Area Solution: Given: Side 1 of a parallelogram garden = 19 cm Side 2 of a parallelogram garden = 25 cm To find: Cost of fencing a parallelogram garden To find the cost of fencing, we need to determine the perimeter of a parallelogram. Perimeter of a rectangle = 2 x (side 1 + side 2) = 2 x (19 + 25) = 2 x 44 = 88 cm Cost of fencing 1 cm = Rs 6 Cost of fencing 88 cm = 88 x 6 =Rs 528 19 cm 25 cm Rectangle has been replaced with Paralllelogram Ans : Cost of fencing the parallelogram garden 88 cm is Rs 528

Note Cost of fencing – Perimeter Cost of cementing – Area Cost of leveling – Area Solution Given: diagonal1 of flower garden(d1) = 25m diagonal2 of flower garden(d2) = 40cm To find: Cost of levelling a rhombus flower garden To find the cost of levelling, we need to determine the area of rhombus Area of a rhombus 25 cm 40 cm Square has been replaced with rhombus = 500m2 cost of levelling 1m2 = Rs 10 cost of levelling 500m2 = 500 x 10 = Rs 5000 Ans : Cost of levelling a rhombus flower garden is Rs 5000
