2019 Construction Season Preview

What’s Ahead? $69M+ in new construction. Finishing the Cleaner River Faster All remaining CSO Projects will be completed in 2019 $69M+ in new construction. Significant road projects on Sprague Phase 2, Five Mile, and Ray/Thor. NSC and West Plains Utilities

2019 Arterial Project Highlights Year Street Project Elements 2019 East Sprague Rebuild Phase 2a: Grant to Scott 2019 work will include a complete rebuild of Sprague from Grant to Scott: Wider travel lanes and parking bays, new pavement, improved lighting both for streets and sidewalks, street trees, transit improvements, upgrade of utilities and vault removal. In addition, Sprague from Pine to Sherman will be restriped to three lanes (to be consistent with existing three lane structure of Sprague from Sherman East). Project Cost: $3,750,000 Ray/Thor: 17th to Hartson Roadway rebuild, water transmission main replacement, improve stormwater pipe to sanitary sewer system connections, update sidewalks to ADA standards. Project cost: $2,620,000 Five Mile: Lincoln Road to Strong Road Full depth pavement reconstruction/curbing, 6’ bike lanes, turn pockets, round-a-bout, 10’ bio-retention facilities Project Cost: $2,500,000

2019 Emphasis Improve construction implementation: Construction Relations manager involved in key projects and projects that have impact on business/residents Commitments from both Public and Private utilities for project support and expectations Implement new scheduling/design strategies Working at the individual level to address access issues, and clarifying in contract. Full closures for a few blocks at a time – using strategy from Sprague Ave. Enhancing communication with those impacted by projects Strengthening requirements for contractor public liaison coordination/communication/documentation. Implementing alternative methods of notification (ex. broad postcard mailings, certified letters, more customer focused 2-week look-ahead). Balance by geography Projects spread across the City
