palm branches = FESTIVE JOY! [9] … clothed in WHITE ROBES, and palm branches were in their hands; WHITE palm branches = FESTIVE JOY! Feast of Tabernacles [Lev. 23:26-32, 39-44; Jn 12:13] WHITE ROBES = HEAVENLY color = PURITY! Revelation 7:9-10

[10] and they CRY OUT with a GREAT VOICE, saying, “SALVATION to our God the ONE sitting on the THRONE, and to the LAMB.” Revelation 7:9-10

shows that ALL of the SAVED have a COMMON FOUNDATION! The phrase “our God” shows that ALL of the SAVED have a COMMON FOUNDATION! God through CHRIST provided a COMMON SALVATION [Jude 3]! CHRIST, through His BLOOD PROCURED, that SALVATION [Rev 1:5; 5:9-10; 7:14; 12:11]! Revelation 7:9-10

Revelation 7:11-12 Context Note: The Angels standing around the THRONE FALL DOWN and WORSHIP GOD!

Revelation 7:13 WHO ARE THEY, And one of the elders answered, saying to me, “These ones having been clothed with the white robes, WHO ARE THEY, and FROM WHERE HAVE THEY COME?”

Revelation 7:14 … he said to me, “These are the ONES WHO COME OUT FROM the GREAT TRIBULATION…

“… the ONES WHO COME OUT FROM…” The verb TENSE here indicates a CONTINUOUS COMING, NOT a PAST or COMPLETED coming. Revelation 7:14

But WHAT IS the GREAT TRIBULATION ?

CLEANSING BLOOD !

… he said to me, “These are the ONES WHO COME OUT FROM the GREAT TRIBULATION, and they HAVE WASHED their ROBES and WHITENED THEM in the BLOOD of the LAMB. Revelation 7:14

By the BLOOD of the LAMB. … we ARE RELEASED from our SINS [Rev 1:5] By the BLOOD of the LAMB... … we ARE RELEASED from our SINS [Rev 1:5]! … we ARE PURCHASED for God [Rev 5:9; 1 Pet 1:18f.]! … our SINS ARE FORGIVEN [Mt 26:28]! Revelation 7:14

The BLOOD of the LAMB... … CONTINUES to CLEANSE us from ALL SINS [1 Jn 1:7]! … ENABLES us to OVERCOME SIN and be FAITHFUL to SERVING Him, even to the point of DYING FOR HIM [Rev 12:11]! Revelation 7:14

“they HAVE WASHED” (is aorist active) They WERE NOT PASSIVE, They HAD… … CONFESSED their FAITH in JESUS [Ro 10:8-10]; … REPENTED of their SINS [Acts 17:30f.] Revelation 7:14

They HAD… … BEEN BAPTIZED [ IMMERSED ] into the DEATH of JESUS [Ro 6:3f.], for the FORGIVENESS of their SINS [Acts 2:38]! Their SINS HAD BEEN WASHED AWAY IN HIS BLOOD [Acts 22:16]! Revelation 7:14

Revelation 7:15 “THROUGH THIS, they ARE BEFORE the THRONE of THE GOD…” At death FAITHFUL SAINTS go directly into the PRESENCE of God and Christ. This is NOT the FINAL STATE of GLORY [chapter 21]

2 Corinthians 5:6, 8 [6] Therefore … KNOWING that while we are at home IN the BODY we are ABSENT from the Lord – [8] we … PREFER RATHER to be ABSENT from the BODY and to be AT HOME with the Lord. Revelation 7:15
