Very controversial since there are videos showing his hands up in the air and complying with police orders before being shot

Perspectives Victim: Terence Crutcher Shooter: Betty Shelby Crutcher’s point of view: standing near his vehicle needing help on his car Shelby: in route to domestic violence case when she encountered Crutcher who she thought was under the influence of drugs Shelby will be prosecuted for 1st degree manslaughter

Problem Shooting and killing of innocent lives by police officers Racial profiling and stereotyping Police are to help and protect people, not shoot them based on their race to kill Officer did not know what the right course of action was and the officer thought it was the right thing to do, but it wasn’t

Solution Talk to police officers and work together with each other in communities If a victim: Talk and communicate more effectively Obey all of the officers requests If a police officer: Be more patient when confronting suspects Allow suspects to explain their side of the story Train for racial bias to handle this kind situations better Using these can help people feel less scared of the police Using these police can connect to their community and they feel protected

Implications Shooting of Trayvon Martin Was suspected by his look Resolutions I mentioned would have helped in the death of Trayvon Martin Suspected by his appearance Discriminated since he was African-American No communication between him and the shooter
