Presentation transcript:

The National DAY OF SILENCE is a day of action in which students across the country vow to take a form of silence to call attention to the silencing effect of homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying, name-calling and harassment in schools. The goal of the DAY OF SILENCE is to make schools safer for all students regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity / gender expression.

Why do I think this? Is it true? What do others think? To start with, it can be taking a step back from preconceived ideas or opinions we hold and trying to look at them differently. Asking questions like: Why do I think this? Is it true? What do others think? The LGBTQIA+ community has to do a lot of this thinking for ourselves and the best way to get others to understand our experiences, is to get them to ask these questions too.
