VIVO Rewards

Attendance It is vital that your child attends College as regularly as possible to avoid missing valuable lesson time and falling behind. Registers are completed electronically each lesson in addition to period 1 at 8.35am where morning registration takes place and Progress & Aspiration time at 11:40 when the afternoon registration takes place. In light of your child’s absence, it is essential that we are able to contact parents at the earliest opportunity. Please ensure that all contact details are correct including emergency phone numbers and e-mail addresses. Upon their return to school your child must provide a written record of their absence either in the form of a letter or a note in their planner.

Holidays Holidays will not be authorised during the academic year unless there are exceptional circumstances. Amendments to the 2006 regulations from the Department for Education, removes references to family holidays and extended leave. Parents who do take pupils on an unauthorised holiday in term time could be issued with an Education Penalty Notice.

Punctuality At St Mary’s we aim for learning to take place in a calm and orderly fashion, without interruption. As a result we have clear and effective expectations regarding punctuality. Pupils must be on site before 8.30am to allow movement time to lesson 1. The gates are locked at 8.30am every morning. Pupil’s that arrive late to school or lessons will be issued with a 30 minute detention that evening beginning at 2.50pm and ending at 3.20pm.
