Candle Prayer Dear Lord Jesus, We light this candle to remind us that you are the Light of the world. As we come together now to pray and to praise may you remove all darkness from our hearts and minds. Amen

The Collect Lord Jesus Christ, light of the nations and glory of Israel: make your home among us, be present in us today. Amen

The Gospel – Luke 2:22-40 Mary and Joseph brought Jesus to Jerusalem. In the Temple, they met an old man called Simeon and an old woman called Anna.

The Gospel – Luke 2:22-40 Anna and Simeon had been waiting a long time for God’s comfort and salvation.

The Gospel – Luke 2:22-40 When Simeon, saw Jesus, he picked him up and said: “Now my eyes have seen God’s salvation!”

The Gospel – Luke 2:22-40 Anna praised God, and started to tell everyone about Jesus.

The Lord’s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever and ever.   Amen
