Work Week 1 - Command words June 17 1 first third Week 2 - June 2017 paper 1 second third Week 3 - June 2017 paper 1 last third Week 4 – computer room – start summer research project/finish any folder work NOT AVAILABLE SO WILL BE IN THE LAB, SORRY Extension - specimen set 2 and mark scheme

What do you expect? Harder questions Harder answers More difficult level of analysis PAPER 1 CONTENT IS THE SAME!

What is the best way to move to A level standard? Work at it over the year Starting now by looking at paper 1 and comparing it with AS answers fresh in your mind so the step up in difficulty can be quantified and you understand how much more you have to think about answering Improve your language to the required standard by using mark schemes and exemplars Practising this standard of question

The programme 1 hour per week Period ‘3’ - a bit like a period 9 lesson in biology (summer timetable period 1 and 2 = A level content and practical lessons and will generate hwk) No homework from this lesson - copies to be kept in school until end of week 4 please Needs to be submitted as part of the folder in September as entry to A level Biology

Week 2 Complete and mark June 17 paper 1 up to 5.2 (from 3.2) Use examiners report to make detail needed very clear Compare with AS questions to spot the move up to A level - what is EXTRA at A level

Week 3 Complete and mark June 17 paper 1 up to and including 08.1 Use examiners report to make detail needed very clear Compare with AS questions to spot the move up to A level - what is EXTRA at A level

Week 4 Start summer project/complete any outstanding work for your folder

Active transport/FD Nutrients eg glucose

Go up to and including 5.2 during week 2 lessons
