SPEECH EVALUATION CHECKLIST

CONTENT 1. Did the speaker seem to have expertise in the subject area? 2. Was the goal of the speech clear? 3. Did the speaker have high-quality info? 4. Were the AVAs appropriate & well used? 5. Did the speaker establish common ground & adapt the content to the audience’s interests, knowledge & attitudes?

ORGANIZATION 6. Did the intro. gain attention, goodwill for the speaker & lead into the speech? 7. Were the main points clear, parallel & meaningful complete sentences? 8. Did transitions lead smoothly? 9. Did the conclusion tie the speech together?

PRESENTATION 10. Was the language clear? 11. Was the language emphatic? 12. Did the speaker sound enthusiastic? 13. Did the speaker show sufficient vocal expressiveness? 14. Was the presentation spontaneous? 15. Was the presentation fluent?
