Introduction Azure Active Directory (AAD) provides a more secure process for partner authentication. Microsoft Dynamics users are encouraged to sign in using their work or school account (e.g., tomas@contoso.com). ​ If a user does not want to use their work or school account, they have an option to continue using their Microsoft account (e.g., tomas@hotmail.com). ​

Scenario 1–The user has an AAD account, but signs in with Microsoft account

Scenario 1 A B Select the Sign in with your Microsoft account option. Enter your sign in details. The system recognizes that you have an AAD account mapped with MBS. You are prompted to sign in using this account. Enter your work account to continue with the AAD login. Select SKIP if you wish to continue with your Microsoft account. A B

Scenario 2–The user has an AAD account, but it is not recognized in MBS

Error scenarios

Error scenario 1 The user is prompted to associate their Microsoft account with their work account. If an invalid work account is entered, the user will see this message.

Error scenario 2 The user is prompted to associate their Microsoft account with their work account. If they enter their Microsoft account, the highlighted error message will display. Sign in with work account or contact your IT administrator for creation of work account

Error scenario 3 The user is prompted to associate their Microsoft account with their work account. The user enters their work account but receives the highlighted error message. This is a technical issue, and the user should contact support or try again later. We apologize but the site is unable to complete your action at this time. This should be a temporary issue. Error scenario 4 The user is prompted to associate their Microsoft account with their work account. The user enters their work account but receives the highlighted error message. The system cannot complete the AAD process. The user must contact their organization’s IT administrator. We are sorry. We are unable to sign you up to Microsoft Dynamics as the email domain you have provided is not present on our system. Sign in with a different work account or contact your IT administrator for creation of work account.
