Tech for Education Teacher Notes Before delivering Tech for Education please make sure you have: - Watched the short video tutorial found at: https://www.techshecan.org/tech-for-education/ - Downloaded and read the Tech for Education plan - found on the website to the right of the video tutorial - Created a list of tech workers for the students to research or use the examples on the slide - Decided how you would like the children to present their research and have appropriate resources available (i.e. paper posters, PowerPoint, Video etc) Resources needed for Tech for Education: - Access to the internet either through laptops or desktops - individually or small groups.

Inspirational Women in Tech Your Task: Work in pairs/small groups. You are going to be given the name of a famous woman who either is or has worked in technology. In your groups, you are going to research them and create a presentation all about them. Include information such as: - Personal information: Where were/are they from? Are they still alive? Why are they famous? What technology did they use in their role? What made their job/discovery important? We will be presenting our findings to the rest of the clas.

Could you imagine if your teacher was a hologram? Debate time: What do you think the pros and cons of having a holographic teacher would be?

The Future of Learning and Technology What do you think the future of learning and technology will look like? What kinds of technology do you think teachers and students will be using in the classroom? Your Challenge Create a labelled design of a piece of technology which would help the learners of the future. If any tech was possible, what would you create? How would it help teachers and students? You will be presenting your deigns to another group/ the rest of the class.
