Research Project: Energy Conversion Digital Twins Energy Conversion
Digital twins We will construct digital twins that describe the datacenter as a component in the Danish energy infrastructure with focus on integration information exchange relevant thermal services inside the datacenter with focus on maintenance and operation Digital twins are proven to increase the learning outcome in education and at the same time supporting optimization of the specific device.
Energy Conversion Higher cooling temperatures makes waste heat utilization more realistic Cooling of data centers moves to still more advanced cooling AI demands cooling closer to the processors (CPU, GPU and TPU) Googles new TPU 3.0 demands liquid cooling, leading to higher cooling temperatures Supercomputers are often liquid cooled (e.g. the most powerful AI computer in Japan) Liquid cooling combines lower electricity consumption with less cooling demands and higher cooling temperatures The project investigates the more advanced cooling required by AI data centers
