Start on Time! Teeland Middle School

What students should know… There will be a bell to signify the start and end of the class period Students will be released on time Students will arrive and be in their next period prepared within 5 minutes When the start bell “rings” teachers will close their doors Students who are not inside the classroom are to report to the office for a tardy pass An adult will be in the hallway to escort you to the office

Bell Exceptions Exception: There will be no during 4th period as this would disrupt classes in session. However, the expectations remain the same. Teachers will still close doors and remaining student will report to the office.

What students should know… Upon arriving at the cafetorium students will fill out an office slip and present it to a staff member Student will go to the office, turn in slip and provide the secretary with their student ID number or present their student id card A tardy slip will be generated Student will adhere to the consequence designated for their quantity of infractions The student will return to cafetorium to wait for dismissal

What constitutes an Unexcused tardy? Arriving late to class for any reason other than: Meeting with nurse, counselor or principal. Medical appointments Late Bus Arrival

Consequences for each quarter 1st Infraction- Warning 2nd Infraction- Warning 3rd Infraction- Parent contact 4th Infraction- Parent contact, Lunch Detention 5th Infraction- Parent contact, Lunch Detention 6th Infraction- Parent contact, Student Contract 7th Infraction- Administrative Action

Expectations for Lunch Detention Student will get their lunch and report immediately to the library. Student must spend the lunch period sitting silently. No work or reading will be permitted. If student does not show up for lunch detention it will result in an immediate parent conference.

When is all this Happening? 7th and 8th Graders: August 17 & 18- Practice sweeping/Troubleshooting, Tardies will not be entered. August 19th- Full Implementation 6th Graders: No sweeping the first two days. Beginning on August 19 thru August 27 sixth graders will be swept and we will troubleshoot with them to resolve issues. However, the tardies/consequences will not be entered. On August 31st, full implementation.
