Why? How?

Can be given a few days later Currently: Milestones are assessed using levels and formative feedback Formative feedback is given at the end of a piece of work Not acted upon until the next milestone of that skill Can be given a few days later

How can I take the idea of growth mindset assessment beyond praising effort and build it into the instructional sequence? How can it become part of the process?

A planned activity that enables pupils to adjust the procedures they are currently using to try to learn – think about the process of learning ‘I think we need to identify explicitly for students how they should plan, monitor themselves as they work, and evaluate themselves (and others) more consciously in each subject discipline.’ Alex Quiqley Growth Mindset - so what’s next? http://www.huntingenglish.com/2015/01/18/growth-mindset-whats-next/
