Why Post-16?

Transition Day: purpose…. …….to help you answer these questions: Will you enjoy the subject? Does the way the course is assessed suit your skills? Can you get good grades? How does the subject fit into your career plans? Are the three subjects you are studying a good combination?

Checking your choices – are they right for your pathway? Will the subjects I have chosen help me reach my goal? Will they ensure I secure good grades? Vocational/Academic ?

Timetable

EPQ and Supported Study Every student will do the Extended Project Qualification. In Room 005, Mr Harris will explore the details with you. Every student will have a Supervised Study session introduced by Mr Burkinshaw. You will be able to begin work on your summer gap tasks.

What is Supervised Study? Three hours a week Appears in your timetable Silent study to make progress on homework, extra reading, revision or UCAS/Apprenticeship applications

Why does it work? Continue the good habits of Y11 revision A bridge between independence and having lessons all the time A window on how other people work Gives you a start. An end to procrastination? Creates a virtuous circle

Homework at Post 16 Guidance to staff Students in Y12 and Y13 should receive an hour of homework per lesson. This means that a double period should generate 2 hours of homework.
