Key word definitions Metric units - A system of measurement in which the basic units are the meter, the second, and the kilogram. Imperial Units - A system of weights and measures originally developed in England. Speed – the rate at which something moves. Density – the compactness of a substance. Mass – a measure of how much matter is in an object. Volume – the amount of space inside a 3D shape. Pressure – an expression of force exerted on a given surface area. Force – is a push or pull on an object. Area – the space of space inside a 2D shape.
