Tuesday, February 20th The Schwa Was Here Vocabulary: Copy the word and definition 1. schwa- (n)the faint vowel sound in many unstressed syllables in the English Language. Ex: the e in overlook, a in forgettable- sounds like “uh” 2. mannequin- (n)a usually life-size model of the human body used to display or fit clothes 3. capische- (v) slang for “Do you understand?” 4. persistence- (n) the quality of continuing steadily despite problems or difficulties 5. Teflon- (n)a plastic with nonstick properties used to coat cookware Dude, It’s Reading Time!
