What is ILT? Who can attend? Vision: is to Strengthen Scouting in our Region and our respective National Scouting Organizations (NSO) through a collaborative effort of sharing, networking and support. What/When: 6 day course, late December/Early January Intended Audience: Age 18-26, selections made by each NSO, 2 participants per NSO

When did it begin and why? In 2013 in Houston - Texas delivered the first Interamerican Leadership Training with 68 participants from every National Scouting Organization (NSO) in the Interamerican Region. ILT is intended to help build capacity in the region by training emerging leaders in leadership skills that would enable them to become more effective leaders within their NSO 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 USA Guatemala Ecuador Panama Discuss how it is funded (MOP & USFIS grants), MOP projects

What we teach Values of Scouting Emotional Intelligence Vision Communication Better World Framework Stages of Team Development Conflict Management and Resolution Problem Solving Servant Leadership Emotional Intelligence Bias and Influence Change Management Multiplier Diminisher Effect Leading Virtual Teams Sustainable Development Goals Setting the Example Followership Discuss syllabus creation and evolution over the past 2 years The experience, how we teach Conducting a leadership training course in a multicultural, multi-lingual environment where participants are placed into teams from different NSOs, other than their own, gives the participants a unique experience that cannot be gleaned from reading the syllabus or reviewing the topics taught.

Stats 343 participants since 2013 18 NSO have developed their Leadership course 11 NSO have executed up to two leadership courses 4 NSO have executed more than two leadership courses Other Regions around WOSM have sent participants to ILT who have returned to their NSOs and initiated their own leadership training courses
