Histogram Summary Process Steps A method for showing the distribution of quantitative data and identifying those with the greatest impact. Summary Histograms share many common features with Pareto Charts, with each being a visual representation of the variables which contribute to problems or issues. Each can be used as a prioritization tool to aid in focusing on the top issues which contribute to specific conditions. Histograms enable you to see the pattern of a complete data set, irrespective of whether or not the data follows a normal distribution. This is particularly useful when evaluating the spread of data, or if the data is skewed about a nominal position. Histogram data may be collected as a process or event is taking place so this is real time data. Process Steps
