New BHS Efforts Coordinated Entry Goal of increasing the efficiency of local crisis response systems and improving fairness and ease of access to resources, including mainstream resources Prioritization through use of the Vulnerability Index – Service Prioritization Decision Assistance Tool By Name List of all people experiencing homelessness in HMIS New Technical Assistance for CES starting April 2019 Local partnerships are making a difference

New projects for 2019 Through the FY 2018 Continuum of Care Program application the following new projects were funded: Rapid Re-Housing for survivors of domestic and sexual violence Rapid Re-Housing for youth Expanded Permanent Supportive Housing for the North Country Partnerships with NHHFA resulted in 2 successful new programs Mainstream Vouchers Family Unification Program vouchers

Legislative Happenings Senate Bill 84 proposes increased funding for Eviction Prevention Emergency Shelter case management Rapid Re-Housing for Youth Business Systems Analyst to help gather accurate data Division III budget includes Eviction prevention funds Rapid Re-Housing for multiple populations

Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program Goal to develop a coordinated community response to prevent and end youth homelessness Application is due May 15, 2019 Grant writer funded by the Endowment for Health Youth focus group Planning funds and service dollars possible

Housing Integration Team Purpose Follow United States Interagency Council on Homelessness (USICH) recommendations to develop a systemic response through expanded partnerships, cross-system collaboration, and streamlined referral processes that extends the responsibility of addressing homelessness outside of the confines of the homelessness crisis response system Develop collaborative and integrative efforts across DHHS to initiate a project aimed towards a united response to homelessness as established through transformation of DHHS policy and development of agency-wide systems that prioritize individuals’ housing needs

Housing Integration Team Activity to date: Reviewed the four goals and eight objectives presented in the USICH charter Catalogued current housing efforts existing throughout DHHS Held a roundtable discussion of housing related ‘hot-button’ issues Developed next steps to begin creating a housing related toolbox and delivering this information to individuals providing direct services Explore existing resources Identify gaps and challenges Provide recommendations and/or internal DHHS process
