Indirect beneficiaries: 4000 individuals Providing sustainable work opportunities to Syrian refugees and vulnerable Jordanians in the agricultural sector in northern Jordan Direct beneficiaries: 8 cooperatives, 560 Syrian refugees, 240 Jordanians Indirect beneficiaries: 4000 individuals Project goal: To enhance integration and participation of Syrian refugees and vulnerable Jordanians in agricultural livelihoods opportunities through 8 cooperatives in northern Jordan

Providing sustainable work opportunities to Syrian refugees and vulnerable Jordanians in the agricultural sector in northern Jordan Objective 1: Improve capacity of 8 cooperatives in Mafraq and Irbid Governorates to engage the market and support the involvement of Syrian refugee and Jordanian farmers in income-generating activities Objective 2: Equip 560 Syrian refugees and 240 Jordanians with the necessary skills to engage in microbusinesses Objective 3: Effective support mechanisms in place for agricultural market entry for Syrian refugees and vulnerable Jordanians

Providing sustainable work opportunities to Syrian refugees and vulnerable Jordanians in the agricultural sector in northern Jordan STATUS: The assessment tool for selecting the cooperatives has been developed and approved. The 23 cooperatives belonging to the ILO network have been assessed. 8 permanent cooperatives have been selected (5 in Mafraq and 3 in Irbid). 4 additional backup cooperatives have been identified (2 from each governorate).

Providing sustainable work opportunities to Syrian refugees and vulnerable Jordanians in the agricultural sector in northern Jordan STATUS: The procurement of a business development consultant, trainer and climate smart agriculture consultant for My.COOP is on process (interview stage). The tool to assess 1,600 individuals and select 800 beneficiaries has been developed. The holding of the first Supervisory Committee has been organized, and will take place on 13th Dec. 2017

Providing sustainable work opportunities to Syrian refugees and vulnerable Jordanians in the agricultural sector in northern Jordan NEXT STEPS: Conduct the assessment of 1,600 individuals and the selection of 800 beneficiaries. Conduct the cooperatives capacity assessment. Adapt My.COOP training package to the Jordanian context and deliver 5-day training on methodology. Create the local TREE committees to select the successful business plans.
