Field trip to the frist The Spanish department has organized an educational field trip to the frist museum in nashville for all Spanish students interested in attending. The exhibition captures the vitality and expressiveness of 20th century Mexican art with iconic works by Frida kahlo, diego rivera, manuel alvarez, maria izquierdo, jose orozco, and others.

Due to the urgency in finalizing field trip details since exhibition will close on September 4th, it is important that we have a count of how many students will be attending so we can plan accordingly regarding transportation, substitute teachers, and alternative plans for students staying in school. We ask for your cooperation in deciding if your child will attend field trip or not, and handing back the parent signed interest form to Spanish teacher by Friday August 9th. Price may vary depending on number of students attending: $15 (approximately) This is a field trip that the Spanish Department has planned carefully in order to make it relevant, enlightening, interesting, and above all, educational. We will provide more details with specifics soon. Seal of Biliteracy Knowing a second language is a very desirable skill for both employers and college recruiters. Many states have been offering the Seal of Biliteracy for over a decade. Now, Tennessee students have the opportunity of becoming more competitive when applying to out-of- state universities. Many universities use the Seal of Biliteracy to place students in advanced level language courses. Some universities even count it as college credit. Students receiving the Seal of Biliteracy in 2020 will have the opportunity to apply for a $1000 scholarship.

What you see in the gradebook You’ll see a lot of grades, usually on a range of 0-5, which corresponds to a feedback rubric. As long as everything is at least a 3, then the Unit Grade is a 97 A If there is any shortcoming (a 1 or 2), then the Unit Grade is a 89 B If there are multiple 0, 1, and 2, then the Unit Grade is a 80 C Unit Grades average to be the Quarter Grade.
