What is Open Access or OER? "OER are teaching, learning, and research resources that reside in the public domain or have been released under an intellectual property license that permits their free use and re-purposing by others. Open educational resources include full courses, course materials, modules, textbooks, streaming videos, tests, software, and any other tools, materials, or techniques used to support access to knowledge.“ - William and Flora Hewlett Foundation

Why OER? “In the past three decades, the costs of textbooks have risen some 834%; that is more than double the rate of increase in house prices and triple the cost increases in the Consumer Price Index.” CBC. Why an Open Access Textbook? Original Canadian Leadership textbook became outdated Unable to find an equivalent Canadian textbook that met the needs of our curriculum Collection of relevant material within the existing online course.
