Who’s at Your Table? The Fight of Your Life

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,     I will fear no evil, for you are with me;     your rod and your staff,     they comfort me. Psalm 23:4

Be sober-minded; be watchful Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.  1 Peter 5:8

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; Psalm 23:5

Who is sitting at your table?

Has the Enemy taken a seat at your table?

How do you know if the Enemy has taken a seat at your table?

You believe you are not good enough to sit at the table.

You believe there’s something better at another table.

Don’t let the Enemy have a seat at your table.

How can you enjoy your seat at the table?

Make sure you are spiritually alive.

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.  Galatians 5:16,17

But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.19 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. Galatians 5:18-21

I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.  Galatians 5:21

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Galatians 5:22-24

If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another. Galatians 5:25,26

Follow the Shepherd day by day.

And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. Luke 9:23

Don’t give up.

Watch out for other giants.

 There was war again between the Philistines and Israel, and David went down together with his servants, and they fought against the Philistines. And David grew weary. And Ishbi-benob, one of the descendants of the giants, whose spear weighed three hundred shekels of bronze, and who was armed with a new sword, thought to kill David. 2 Samuel 21:15,16

 But Abishai the son of Zeruiah came to his aid and attacked the Philistine and killed him. Then David's men swore to him, “You shall no longer go out with us to battle, lest you quench the lamp of Israel.” 2 Samuel 21:17

After this there was again war with the Philistines at Gob  After this there was again war with the Philistines at Gob. Then Sibbecai the Hushathite struck down Saph, who was one of the descendants of the giants. 2 Samuel 21:18

 And there was again war with the Philistines at Gob, and Elhanan the son of Jaare-oregim, the Bethlehemite, struck down Goliath the Gittite, the shaft of whose spear was like a weaver's beam. 2 Samuel 21:19

  And there was again war at Gath, where there was a man of great stature, who had six fingers on each hand, and six toes on each foot, twenty-four in number, and he also was descended from the giants. And when he taunted Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimei, David's brother, struck him down. 2 Samuel 21:20,21

  These four were descended from the giants in Gath, and they fell by the hand of David and by the hand of his servants. 2 Samuel 21:22

Follow the Shepherd and enjoy His presence at the table.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want   The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness     for his name's sake. Psalm 23:1-3
