STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS FundraisinG Did You Know? In 1992 the future site for a library was little more than a hillside of rocks when Jean “Janet” and W. Keith Kellogg II of Rancho Santa Fe pledged to help CSUSM build a permanent library on campus. The Kellogg’s gave over $6.4M to the university over the years, including $1M in 1996 toward construction of the Kellogg Library. The size of their first gift to CSUSM in 1992? $300

STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS FundraisinG Did You Know? Created in 1995, this endowed scholarship is awarded every year to six entering freshman who demonstrate financial need, each receiving $1,500. Founded in 2011, the Student Philanthropy Council, a student committee focused on educating CSUSM students about philanthropy and raising money, helped raise $20,886 just last year.
