Students pick a lab/dept. by the end of the spring semester. Year 2: Departmental Specific Classwork. Students take a qualifying exam at the end of the second year Year 3-6 Students perform doctoral research, publish papers, attend meetings, etc. Students defend their dissertation and receive their PhD.
