Netscape has a ‘composer’ found in the drop down box under ‘window’ in the menu bar. Open the Composer and then minimize with the – button on the top right. To re-open it you will only have to click on it where is sits at the bottom of your screen. 11/25/2019

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions ! First Steps Decide what your background should look like. Eg. If you want a Scottish tartan, then you will need to find one on the Internet. 11/25/2019
First Steps Go to : - Window – Navigator - Search – find the tartan When you have found a tartan: - with the mouse arrow on the picture of the tartan, right click and then right click on ‘copy image location’ 11/25/2019
First Steps Open Composer by clicking on it at the bottom of your screen. Under ‘Format’ in the menu bar – choose ‘page colors and background’ Right click and paste 11/25/2019

Pictures A.– From your Own File ( scanned etc ) - click on ‘Image’ in upper menu bar of Composer - click on ‘choose file’ - find your file and desired picture - double click on the picture - in ‘alternate’ text box, type a name - click ‘ok’ - you now have a picture on your web page. 11/25/2019
Pictures B. From the Web go to Window – Navigator Search the Web – find a picture With mouse arrow on picture – right click Right click on ‘copy image location’ Return to Composer 11/25/2019

Pictures From ‘Image’ in menu bar right click to paste type in a name in ‘alternate text’ box click ok Image is now in web page you can move it around using the cursur 11/25/2019
Pictures Once new pictures are installed, point the mouse at the pic, right click, and go to ‘image properties’ Here you can resize the picture. 11/25/2019

Links From Words in Your Web Page: Find a web page you wish to link to Copy the URL address (highlight & rt. Click) Return to Composer – click on LINKS from Menu bar Paste into top box, retype by hand into lower box 11/25/2019
Links Erase top box and insert words you wish to have as a link in your page ie. Rather than http://…… you may wish o have the words ‘family history’ used to signify a link. 11/25/2019

Links From a Picture Use Navigator to find a web page Highlight the URL and copy Return to Composer Point to the picture – right click – choose ‘create a link’ Right click and paste into ‘file name’ Open – click ok 11/25/2019
