Programs “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.”   1 Peter 4:10

Faith in Action a well-rounded council program will have activities in each of the following categories: Faith, Family, Community and life.

Faith in Action The programs highlighted here are meant to inspire your council to put their faith into action. your council may choose to conduct one or more of the programs in this manual, or it may develop programs unique to the parish or community. The goal is for the council to be active and conduct programs that draw men closer to their faith, families and communities — and defend life in all stages and in all conditions.

Faith in Action Featured ProGraMs required ProGraMs The supreme Council has designated select programs as featured programs in each of the program categories. when your council conducts a featured program and satisfies the associated requirements, it will receive two credits toward that program category. additionally, a council must conduct one required program in each category to be eligible for the Columbian award. The vast majority of councils are already doing one or more of these programs, which are designed to enrich thespiritual life of thecouncil, family and community. required programs are incredibly simple to implement, often complementing other activities thecouncil is already doing.

Planning Grand Knights – Meet with your priest. Take him out for a meal!! It works wonders!! District Deputy – Work with your councils. Know what they are planning, attend their events, help at their events. Be involved, the benefits are tremendous!!! Other council officers – You all are a piece of the action…Faith In Action!!!

Safe Environment under Faith inaction, certain state and council officers/ chairmen arerequired to takesafeenvironment training and may also be required to provide authorization for a background check. some positions also have access to Praesidium’s armatus administration dashboard to view member compliance within their council or jurisdiction. if members in certain positions are notcompliant within 30 days of notification, they aresubject to removal from those positions.

Safe Environment Knights of Columbus Reporting Protocol  (1) Report suspected abuse to law enforcement (2) Notify the local diocese of the suspected abuse; and (3) Notify the Knights of Columbus of the suspected abuse at 1-844-KOFC-SAFE (1-844-563-2723). Colorado law states the mandatory reporter shall immediately upon receiving such information report or cause a report to be made of such fact to the county department, the local law enforcement agency, or through the child abuse reporting hotline system. Knowingly making a false report is also punishable under law.

Involve Others We are a family organization!! Lead your family into service Family is more than your immediate family - Your parish family – small council, invite a group within your parish to help. Small councils – reach out to a larger neighboring council to help. Could lead to future Knights, sons, other men in the parish. Ladies Aux Brothers and Sisters in Christ!! DD’s bring your family to your councils events

Membership In the opening lines of Evangelii Gaudium (The Joy of the Gospel), His Holiness Pope Francis invites “Christians, everywhere, at this very moment, to a renewed personal encounter with Jesus Christ” (3) The Faith in action program model extends that same invitation to Knights of Columbus members and their families.it is a renewed personal invitation to live out the calling of their faith, the call to service of their neighbor and to answer the age old question, “am i my brother’s keeper?” (gn 4:9)

Forms

Following the launch of the Faith in Action program model, a new form has been created that will allow reporting for most of the Supreme-recommended programs. This new form will replace 24 individual report forms, streamlining the number of forms council officers are expected to use.

Submit one report form per program. This new form is an optional addition for any reporting on Featured Programs, Free Throw Championship, Soccer Challenge, Catholic Citizenship Essay Contest, or Keep Christ in Christmas Poster Contest, which each have their own report forms that are required to be submitted. Save copies of all report forms to assist with the completion of the Annual Survey of Fraternal Activity (#1728) and the Columbian Award Application (#SP-7). Use your Fraternal Leader Success Planner (#5033) to help document the number of programs, events, charitable hours, and distributions throughout the year. When calculating service hours, remember that family members and volunteers assisting the Knights can be counted towards your totals. Reporting should be done in whole numbers only – do not report fractions of hours or spare change.

Thank You Psalm 37:3 Trust in the LORD and do good; Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness.
