What is a Maquiladora or IMMEX company ? It is a manufacturing facility established in the country of Mexico under a special Mexican Law, that provides incentives in order to reduce and/or eliminate tariffs and manufacturing costs.

How is it created? What is an “IMMEX” company authorized to do ? “IMMEX” stands for Manufacturing Industry Maquiladora and Services Export Program. An “IMMEX” company is authorized to temporarily import into Mexico, FREE of most duties*, machinery, equipment, raw materials and components, for the manufacturing and processing of products for the future exportation of finished products to the place of origin, to another “IMMEX” company, or to final customers anywhere in the world.

What is an “IMMEX” company authorized to do ? On the “Services” side, an IMMEX Company is authorized to provide any kind of service to any customer around the world or to another IMMEX Company. Such services could be among others: Supplying, warehousing, distribution, classification, inspection, testing packaging, polishing, painting, integration of kits or promo materials, repair, rework or maintenance, armoring, design or engineer of software, etc.
