In your faith… Faith = the foundation upon which we build To those who have received the faith – 2 Pt. 1:1 Justified by faith, in obedience of the gospel – Rom. 5:1-2; 10:12-17

In your faith supply moral excellence Called by the moral excellence of God- 2 Pt. 1:3 The standard is Christ – Eph. 4:13 Be imitators of God – Eph. 5:1; 1 Cor. 11:1 Not just better than others – 2 Cor. 10:12

In your moral excellence, supply knowledge Eph. 5:17 – we must understand the will of God Col. 1:9-10 – knowledge  walking worthy When we don’t grow in knowledge, we can’t mature – Heb. 5:12-6:6 Diligence in study of god’s word is required – 2 Tim. 2:15

In your knowledge, supply self-control Mastery of one’s desires and passions Requires discipline of our body – 1 Cor. 9:24-27 Put to death the deeds of the flesh – rom. 8:9-13; Col. 3:5

In your self-control, supply perseverance Rejoice in trials, perseverance brings about proven character! – Romans 5:1-5 Need endurance to receive the promise – DO NOT THROW AWAY YOUR CONFIDENCE – Hebrews 10:32-39

In your perseverance, supply godliness It is profitable for all things – 1 Timothy 4:6-10 The gospel conforms to godliness – 1 Tim. 6:3-6; Titus 1:1

In your godliness, supply brotherly kindness Philadelphia – fraternal affection; the love which Christians cherish for each other as brethren [STRONG] Romans 12:9-13; Heb. 13:1-3 – brotherly love in action Obedience to the truth FOR a sincere love of the brethren – 1 Peter 1:22 The new commandment of Jesus – john 13:34-35

In your brotherly kindness, supply love Stronger than brotherly kindness – 1 Cor. 13:4-7 God is love, to partake of his nature we need that same love – 1 john 4:7-14 For ALL men – 1 Thess. 3:11-13; 4:9-12; Mt. 5:43-48 With knowledge and discernment – Phil. 1:9-11
