Welcome to sixth grade! 08/05/2019 Beginning of Class Procedures: DO NOT BRING YOUR BACKPACK UNTIL YOU GET YOUR LOCKER. You’ll get a locker around the 3rd week of school, after you return all of your paperwork. Go get your breakfast NOW. Do not wait. Breakfast is over at 9:15. First period will begin immediately after announcements. If you are not eating, you must read something of your choice. Help yourself to the books on the bookshelf. HOMEROOM = SILENCE

Language Arts – Warm Up 08/05/19 Gather everything you need from your backpack and leave it in the black bookshelf near the bookcases. You will return to get your bags after 6th period. LIBRARY/MEDIA CENTER ORIENTATION as presented by Mrs. Chaney

Reading Language Arts – E.L.T. 08/05/19 Read a book of your choice. When you finish the book, see me. You must read at least 3 books this nine weeks. You will have time in class to read, but you could also read on your own, too. You may certainly read more to earn more points!

Writing Language Arts – E.L.T. 08/05/19 Choose one of the following topics and write at least one paragraph (5 complete sentences) about it. If you could become a cartoon character who would you be?  Why? What would you do? If you could change 3 things about school, what would you change? What would you do instead? If you could only have a computer OR a TV, which would you pick?  Why? What do you think makes the best lunch?  Why? If you could do whatever you wanted right now, what would you do? Free write about a topic of your choice.
