Objectives Goal Given a paragraph and pencil, students will be able to identify and circle at least 90% of the words that can be combined to create contractions. Given paper and pencil, the students will be able to rewrite the aforementioned paragraph replacing 90% of the words circled with correctly written contractions. Second grade students will be able to recognize words that can be combined to create contractions and correctly combine those words by replacing the medial letters with an apostrophe.
