Tools for Marking & Identifying Instrument tape     Easy to use     Not permanent     Economical     Designed to adhere securely,     Resists        chipping,         flaking,         peeling and         cracking Objective #2

Tools for Marking & Identifying Instrument tape Wide variety and styles Colorful, Almost endless possibilities Roll tape 9 bright colors 3 widths (1/8", 1/4" & 3/8") Precut sheet tape solid and patterned 271 colors, & styles Objective #2

Tools for Marking & Identifying Objective #2

Instrument Tape Application Process 1. Prior to handling and applying tape Wash hands, and wipe with alcohol to remove excess oils Wipe area on instrument where tape is to be applied with alcohol Objective #3

Instrument Tape Application Process 2. Apply tape to shank of the instruments. Tape should NOT be applied: To the rings (rounded surface not conducive to complete adherence) Areas that contact patient, or interfere with the surgeon, or the instrument function Objective #3

Instrument Tape Application Process 3. Apply with firm but gentle tension Do NOT stretch the tape 4. Wrap around the shank 1 ½ times ONLY Do not overlap tape if using multiple pieces 5. Sterilization will allow the tape to bond to the instrument Objective #3
